So, it's been a little while since I posted last. Okay...it's actually been a long while. I don't really have an excuse. We're totally not that busy. So, I'm going to try and catch up a bit (which means there will likely be a lot of text and even more photos to follow).
A couple weeks ago we went to visit GiGi and G-pa (at least that's what Nana calls them...they're otherwise known as Great-Grandma & Great-Grandpa Schiermeyer). Law had a blast exploring a new place and seeing all his family members we don't get to see too often. I'm pretty sure his favorite thing about the trip was the piano (I think someone has a future in music)...

Law was very sweet and gave lots of cuddles and kisses

The poor baby was so worn out after the trip. He put his lovey like that himself and used it as a pillow. Could he be any cuter??

Lawrence LOVES playing outside. He'll stand at the back door and whine. He cries when we come in. It's a bit ridiculous. Also ridiculous: the number of items the grandmothers and I bought Lawrence from the Gymboree "Construction Ahead" line (as pictured below...and above...) I mean, he *had* to have it, seeing as his Papa works for Caterpillar and his daddy's a construction engineer, right? That's what I thought.

Happy Easter!

A few photos from Easter:

We had a nice -- albeit it very busy -- day. Lawrence was a trooper as always. He was a hoot in church. Not sure if we'll be trying THAT again soon. The service was during his regular nap time. By the end of it, he was a little slap-happy. It'll either be the nursery or an earlier service next time.

We had a HILARIOUS video of him discovering his Easter basket but somehow deleted it. I guess I'll just have to tell what happened, but it won't do it justice...He walked right over to it, checked it out and pulled out an egg. He shook it a bit and tried to open it. He held it up to his ear and shook it again. Then, with no warning, he threw it toward the ground with all his little might. The egg opened and jelly beans flew everywhere. We couldn't wrestle them away, so junior ate the entire egg's worth. Guess that's what holidays are all about...candy for breakfast...

Drama King

Sorry I haven't posted in awhile. I'd like to say it's because we've been soooo busy, but it's really because I've been lazy.

Anyway, last Friday, Sir Lawrence had his first tantrum. My immediate response? To run get the video camera! (I swear I'm not a bad mother, but there was absolutely nothing wrong with him and I found it hilarious -- plus, I didn't want to make a big to-do about it and perpetuate the behavior by giving him attention).

His tantrum, continued:

I definitely find myself wondering what we did for entertainment before Law was born...

Penne Rig-uh-oh

Lawrence is a sneaky little stinker. For real.

There we were, hanging out in the kitchen. I was cleaning his high chair trays and had the water running full blast. Somehow, during the brief time I was rinsing the trays, Law managed to get his hand inside a cabinet, pull out a package of pasta and dump the ENTIRE thing on the carpet without me noticing a thing. He's hell on wheels, I tell you. Good thing he's freaking cute.

I will say he was quite the little charmer after the fact. I couldn't even tell him 'no' sternly because it was pretty hilarious and he was being so sweet. He even helped me pick up all the noodles (in between tasting every other one, anyway).
Speaking of how cute our son is, here are a few photos from today:

"Hey, y'all! Wanna come chill in my crib?"

Okay, so this was actually taken on Monday, but I just love it. I think it's quickly becoming one of my favorite pictures ever.

A look back

The sneak peek we had of Spring the other day brought back a lot of memories of last Spring. It's so hard to believe that it's been just a year since our rough and tumble toddler was just a teeny, tiny newborn.

Since I worked today and didn't take any new pictures or video, I thought I'd post a few "oldies but goodies."

These two pics were taken just hours after he was born. Good thing he had that hat on...he had a mean conehead.

This is one of my all-time favorite pictures. He was 2 weeks old. I freaking LOVE that hat.

I love this photo. He doesn't look like that at all anymore. And his poor little face is all slimed up with breastfeeding cream....can't wait to tell him that's why his cheeks were so shiny when he's a teenager!

This one was taken last year on Valentine's Day. It was his first ever smile caught on camera. Aw.

These pictures were taken exactly one year ago today. As you can see, Lawrence has had a ton of personality from a VERY early age. (doesn't he look like he's pondering his world takeover in the 2nd pic?!)

Ah, memories...

I'll try to post some more recent pics of his latest tricks tomorrow.

Just another manic Monday.

So, Lawrence learned a new trick.

Yep, those would be his pants. Not on him. Somehow, I didn't expect "de-pantsing himself" to be the next milestone he'd reach.

Doesn't he look so proud? Aw.

In other news (yes, we're so boring that what I'm about to write consitutes as "news"), we finally found Law a new pair of shoes. The Chinese foot binding ritual is officially over!

Lawrence is now the proud owner of some Adidas Superstar 2Gs -- just like his daddy's. They're so cute!! (and the best thing about them...they were FREE!!! Thank you, Kohl's, for having a fabulous sale this week!)

And Lawrence didn't just get one pair of shoes, he got THREE. In one day. Nana stopped over with some brown dress shoes for his Easter outfit and, because it's BOGO right now, some super cute plaid canvas Airwalks. He's going to be quite decked out this spring!

Lawrence and I decided to have a bit of a photo shoot this afternoon (more like, we were about to run errands and I thought I'd let him run around the driveway a bit before I had him cooped up in a carseat/cart for the entire afternoon...and I just happened to have my camera.) Here are some shots (and you don't have to tell me...I know he looks SO big!! I can't believe how old he looks!)

And, because this isn't *just* about our adorable son, I'll post a pic of the new floor Mike put down this weekend. It looks fabulous and it totally reminds me again why I married him -- he's so handy!! (okay, that's not the only reason I married him, but it is really nice!)
We (and by "we" I mean Mike) will be doing the kitchen and dining room as well. Mike said Lawrence and I need to "go away" for the weekend, though, for him to get it done. Hopefully we'll find something to do soon because I can't wait to see how awesome it looks!

Happy Monday!

While Mondays stink for most people, Law and I actually dig them because it's a "home" day (I only work Tuesdays, Wednesdays and half day Fridays). In honor of all you poor souls who have to work, here's a little clip to cheer you up of Lawrence "running"

We had a pretty good weekend. The weather on Saturday was BEAUTIFUL -- it was 65 degrees!! Too bad it was SNOWING/SLEETING/BLUSTERY yesterday. Stupid Nebraska weather. I can't wait for it to warm up so Lawrence can play outside. I know he's going to love running around the backyard.

Hope you all have a lovely Monday!
